Organize Teams, Begin Research & Evaluation

- The first thing you need to do is meet with your team and decide who will be doing each role. Once you've done that and you've reviewed all the pages of this webquest, you are ready to continue with the school store web site evaluations. Remember, we've already done the first two together (Garrison Forest and Englewood High School).

Each of you will be evaluating two web sites. One of them you will find on your own, the other one you will choose from the preselected sites listed below.
- Click and print 2 copies of the Web Evaluation Checklist. You will need to fill one out for each of the sites you evaluate.
- Please make sure no one from your team evaluates the same web sites on the list below.

- Once you've completed the preselected store evaluation, go to your favorite search engine and search for and critically evaluate an online school store web site. You will need to complete another evaluation form.

Then visit the
HolyName High School Web Site tour the site to get a sense of the look and feel of all the pages. Find the link to the school store. It's currently blank and waiting for your creative expertise!

- Choose one or two team members to go to the
HolyName site and meet with the Store Attendant. This can be done
outside of class when the store is open. Make sure you get a tour of the store. Bring a set of questions to ask and don't forget to find out what they would like to feature on the school store web site.
You want to make sure they are happy with the information you put on the web site!

- You should be able to start discussing the evaluations with your team at the end of class. You may want to show your team members the good and bad qualities of the sites. Begin design discussions. Tomorrow you will continue discussions and start putting your ideas down on paper.

- Anything you weren't able to complete today should be done as homework or in the lab after school.
